Romania. Home by the sea.

Black Sea coast, the Carpathians and Transylvania, low prices within the EU.

Romania combines a Black Sea coast, from Mamaia near Constanța to Vama Veche on the Bulgarian border, with the Carpathians and the old towns of Transylvania such as Brașov, Sibiu and Sighișoara. Prices are far below Western European levels, and the supply of holiday homes is growing, especially in the mountains.

EU citizens can acquire apartments, houses and land on the same terms as residents. Buyers from outside the EU may own buildings, but land generally only through a Romanian company. The deed of sale is signed before a notary and entered in the land register (Cartea Funciară). The currency is the Romanian leu.
