The Red Sea is the nearest destination with swimming weather in winter: four hours by air, twenty degrees in the water in January. El Gouna and Sahl Hasheesh are geared to international owners; Hurghada is the largest and cheapest market.

Foreign nationals may own property; title is entered with the Shahr Akary, the land register. Registration takes time and is often postponed — which is precisely why we ask for it when listing.
